Frequently asked questions
Common questions about GAST Motor from 3G Electric.
How do I size a GAST air motor for my application?
Start with the torque and speed your load needs, then check the air pressure and flow your compressor can deliver at the motor's port. GAST publishes performance curves for each frame size, so match the curve to your duty point, then confirm mounting, shaft and rotation direction.
What is the difference between a GAST rotary vane air motor and a gearmotor?
A rotary vane air motor gives high-speed rotary output directly from compressed air, while a GAST air gearmotor adds a gear reduction to trade speed for higher torque. Choose the gearmotor when your load is slow and heavy, and the plain motor for faster, lighter duties.
Can I get replacement parts and mounting brackets for GAST air motors?
Yes. We stock replacement parts for GAST air motors and gearmotors plus air motor mounting brackets. Send the model and serial or nameplate details from the unit so the correct vanes, seals, bearings or bracket are matched to your build.
